This was Sundays at Oitenta with Cuarto Pexigo
The past may 26th we organized and hosted in our studio, the second Sundays at Oitenta. If you want to know how this initiative was born and the review of our first event, read this post.
During the previous week we were dedicated to produce objects to keep in stock in our versatile bookshelf (it has already travelled through the studio a few times) and to think about how to organize the studio to host Cuarto Pexigo and their Limited Series of author’s photography. How great they looked on our walls!
Soon we will visit their new online store so that one of those photos will return to our walls.
The day started early, at 9:30 am I was in the studio because since I am a nervous person, I slept poorly… yes, I know, it’s not that early, but for a Sunday is not bad.
At 10: 00h Amaia, Iago and Charles arrived, Charles was their resident artist who went straight to painting… in the afternoon he showed us what he had been painting … great! I recommend you take a look at his instagram.
Amaia and I made all the preparations to start receiving visitors from 12:00 h. People began to arrive slowly, until the rush hour, which in this type of events is usually before lunch… and so we stayed until 18:00 h open doors, receiving visits, presenting our work to all those who approached by Oitenta and, also, taking an aperitif and some beers.
Cuarto Pexigo came from Santiago de Compostela, with lots of very cool photographs, collages and illustrations of very talented artists chosen with great care. Some of them hung on our walls, while others were in boxes that people could gossip until they found the ones they liked. Amaia explained to all those interested their stories and those of their authors .. the beauty of these projects are the stories behind each work. If you could not come, we encourage you to visit their shop in the Santiago de Compostela’s Abastos market, you will not regret it.
The day was awesome, we had a great time and the atmosphere was great, the studio was very alive and we are sure to repeat the experience!
Thank you very much to all the people that help so much, to Amaia and Iago for signing up and being so nice, to those who came and those who are reading!
See you on the next Sundays in Oitenta! Here are some photos of the day.
